Originally by: Riddari I'd like CCP to step up and admit that WHAT WE WARNED ABOUT has transpired, Algogille, Kehour, and probably other systems, are seeing disposable alt gankers take down ships worth millions.
We told CCP that the wafer-thin aluminium used to cover the barges was a recipe for disaster.
Like they'd think it through...
I think CCP suspected this would happen but foolishly hoped our playerbase would show some maturity and restraint.
Alas, what we suspected has come true, so expect a hefty beefing up of all barges.

I welcome and applaud the activities of these alts.
Hopefully it means CCP take some drastic action and the end of anonymous alt freedom and that your actions will have consequences for your entire account rather than just some disposable alt.

They won't.
Ever.
Way to crush hope

Originally by: BobGhengisKhan .9s and 1.0s should be for the new characters to make enough money to buy themselves a rifter or whatever. **** the 20+ mil skillpoint macro miners in systems with no npcs, if strip miners were worth a bit more I'd probably do this once in a while for the hell of it
Couldn't care less if this was being performed by mains but these are quite clearly alts.
I think thats where my problem is - if someome is using their main to do this, it's all fine by me. They're taking the sec hit and keeping the rep.
Alts, though, have it free, easy, and without chances of retribution.

Originally by: Frost88 Good effort to try and foce the Carebears into low sec, but this has been done so many times before it's silly.
Was much more fun when you could evade concord
BB with 3 MWD's and cruise missiles was THE best method for empire-ganking.
Do the deed, hit all 3 MWD's to an empty point in space, then log out.

How about they grow some balls and join a corp. as they do it, Disco?
Or do you want the barge miners to create an alt to gank the gankers?
I can't see how that sort of situation helps the game and, afaik, probably ruins the game more fundamentally then any number of macro-mining barges.

How about barge-users grow some brains and get some friends helping out? Afaik, these barges are nimble enough to get the hell out of the icefield/belt as soon as the first volley hits. Hits that opens the Kestrels up to gang agression and concord?
How would you do that? The multiple kestrels all close up at zero range and when they all launch their missiles the barge is dead before the gang member could even hope to stop it happening.
There's no need for a second volley so the nimbleness of the barges isn't even part of the equation.
The only fix id a boost in HP or hoping these guys grow a pair and join a corp. that can be war declared.

Originally by: Tenaj I fail to see the issue here. My understanding is that as long as the kestrels get destroyed by concord the GM's don't see it as griefing.
I have ALWAYS advocated playing within the rules but as far as I can tell this IS within the rules. This is yet another example of the Carebear community wanting the game to be played THEIR way, and ban anyone else who doesn't follow there own self appointed rules. You should all go and play the Sims.

Not everyone is saying what they are doing is against the rules, Tenaj.
We're just asking each other, "Is this what we want and is it good for the game?" because, to be quite honest, the ability to gain material retribution is nullified through the use of disposable alts.
That is the big problem.
